Comments: Five days out of hip replacement surgery by a known ortho. surgeon at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, my wife could not bear weight and was in extreme pain. She was seen in the ER for uncontrollable pain numerous times with (5) inpatient admissions at Union Memorial Hospital of no less than (3) days with a maximum stay of (5) days. On the last hospital admission at Union Memorial Hospital, the surgeon came into my wife's hospital room and declared "I'm just as frustrated as you are. Go wherever the Hell you want" - dropping her hospital records on her lap. Talk about appropriate bedside manner - she was so distraught that she requested the hospital staff keep him out of her room. The blessing was that the hip replacement later became infected and had to be removed. Thank God we found Dr. Nayfeh! Dr. Nayfeh informed me in the waiting room that the hip replacement though appearing normal on X-rays and MRI's was completely loose. Wow - installed loosely. After a spacer was implanted and (8) weeks of IV Therapy followed by (4) weeks of oral antibiotics and another revision surgery, she is finally able to walk now after being limited to a wheelchair. All of this could have been avoided if the original ortho. surgeon had listened to her (5) days out of surgery when she told him something in the hip did not feel normal. He dismissed it and followed obvious routes without doing further research and ordering a MARS MRI which Dr. Nayfeh later identified the problem. The original ortho. surgeon later apologized but it doesn't erase (3) years of her life spent in a wheelchair in constant pain, agony, and a medical circus. I tell everyone willing to listen that Dr. Nayfeh is THE BEST! He and God saved my wife's life, and we are forever grateful that God used him!
